The Business Administration Apprentice will provide a level of service to clients and referrers of work such that Andrew & Andrew is their preferred firm of solicitors and one which they will recommend to others. The post-holder will provide a comprehensive, pro-active support to the conveyancing team and reception when necessary.
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
Working within the Contentious Law department, the Business Administration Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:
- Audio-typing to produce dictated letters, emails & attendance notes for Solicitors
- Covering reception as and when required; answering the telephone and greeting clients
- Inputting time-recording and data into DPS case management system
- Ensuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely manner
- Keeping accurate hard and electronic records
- Undertaking photocopying as and when required
- Assisting the Practice Manager with ad-hoc duties such as emptying the shredding, replenishing paper to the photocopiers, recycling the toner cartridges, ordering the Christmas stationery and organising staff parties
- Undertaking relevant internal and external training where required
- Complying with Law Society / Lexcel standards / Office manual / contract of employment

- GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required

- A levels / level 3 qualifications
- Experience of dealing with inbound / outbound client telephone calls
- Experience working in an office environment
- A sense of humour and self-management skills
