About The Role

PETA Ltd are proud to be working with Hi-Tech Mouldings Ltd to support and train a new HR & Payroll Administrator Apprentice. If you are confident in meeting deadlines, can prioritise effectively and communicate well at all levels then this is the role for you.  

Training to be provided:

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role:

The HR & Payroll Administrator Apprentice will be responsible for providing administrative support regarding all HR and Payroll related matters, whilst delivering a first-class customer service internally and externally. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all HR/Payroll day to day queries and adhoc requests via telephone, email and face-to-face, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure timely processing of payroll including, P45s, maternity/paternity pay, absence and other statutory payments & deductions ensuring data integrity and accuracy at all times.
  • Provide administrative support for the employee life cycle including processing joiners and leavers, creating, and updating employee system profiles and records ensuring data integrity and accuracy at all times.
  • Assist in the recruitment process including posting job vacancies, scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
  • Attend disciplinary/grievance hearings for notetaking purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports, including metrics on recruitment, turnover and employee satisfaction.
  • Assist in the organisation of staff training and development programmes.
  • Help coordinate staff engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
  • Provide a full administrative service using Word, Excel and in-house systems, including but not limited to general administration, filing, typing, data entry, shredding, scanning etc.
  • Support with the administration of HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
  •  Any other reasonable tasks as required by management including ad-hoc support to finance team.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service by providing professional, helpful, high quality customer service before, during, and after the customer's requirements are met.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement by ensuring service standards are maintained and good working practices are adhered to.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety, Quality Management System, and Environmental guidelines and procedures and undertake any actions associated with them when required.
  • Ensure that reasonable care is taken to maintain yours and your colleagues’ health and safety.
  • Always adhere to the Company’s Policies and Procedures as communicated to you from time to time.

Essential Skills / Experience:
 
  • GCSE’s in English and Maths grade 4/C or above
  • Good understanding of MS Office packages including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • First class customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Organised, logical and methodical approach
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
