Training to be provided:
Level 3 IT Support Technician Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 22-month apprenticeship which includes 25 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6-8 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
About the role:
The IT Support Technician Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT ServiceDesk
- Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software
- Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed
- Replace or repair defective equipment or components
- Provide on-site desktop/laptop support including new hardware setup, imaging, and deployment
- Provide minor telecom system support including mobile devices, voicemail, and user programming
- Help maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and software licenses
- Ensure new starters have the right computer system, workplace setup and access needed to do their work
- Conduct IT training for new users, explain process for getting support, basic computer functions, how to find information, etc.
- Aid the leaver process, specifically ensuring company equipment is identified and returned
