The Opportunity
At PETA, we are looking for individuals who want to make a difference. We work with some of the largest businesses on the South Coast to develop the IT Specialists of the future. Our apprenticeship programmes and corporate training schemes have helped thousands of people further their careers and go on to be hugely successful.
Due to continued business growth, we are now looking to expand our team through to recruitment of a new IT Technical Trainer at our conference centre in Cosham, Portsmouth. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, however, we are open to considering part-time and flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.
A major aspect of this role will be leading the digitalisation of our IT programmes. We are seeking someone who can drive forward innovation, modernise content, and integrate contemporary digital learning tools to ensure our provision remains industry-leading and future-focused.
Your New Role
Joining our team as an IT Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for providing high quality training to apprentices, and corporate clients. In your new role, your duties will include.
- Developing training modules, manuals, guides, and presentations that are user-friendly and easily comprehensible for face to face, online and digital programmes
- Customising training programs to meet the specific needs and skill levels of different target audiences
- Providing clear explanations and demonstrations of software functionalities and features, ensuring participants grasp concepts effectively
- Providing ongoing support to trainees, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance related to software usage. Marking work when necessary
- Marking apprentice assignments to meet the requirements of industry standards
- Write clear and concise educational content, ensuring it is age-appropriate, engaging, and accessible to the target audience
- Design curriculum frameworks, units, lesson plans, and instructional sequences that align with educational goals and standards
- Customise educational content to cater to diverse learners, including different age groups, learning styles, and abilities
- Create formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and rubrics, to evaluate student understanding and progress

- Teaching qualifications and a genuine passion for education
- Proven experience in delivering classroom, virtual and digitally delivered training
- Expertise in training on servers, system administration, cyber security, networking, and Python
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Full driving licence and use of own car – highly desirable
