PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Service Engineer Apprentice for our client, P & I Generators. As a Service Engineer you will need an interest in understanding of how equipment works. This role will involve carrying out planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance on generators, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), control systems and electrical switchgear.
This apprenticeship programme forms part of Company succession planning for the future.
This is a field-based role, that will require you to travel across the UK, initially this will be supported by another engineer, but as you grow and develop within your role, you will be required to drive to client sites independently.
Training to be provided:
As a Service Engineer Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship. Throughout your apprenticeship with P & I Generators, you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
Your Level 3 programme will include, a level 3 Engineering work-based qualification delivered by PETA, and day release for 24 months to complete a level 3 BTEC technical certificate.
Overall duration 48 months
About the role:
Joining the Company team as a Service Engineer Apprentice, your role will be focused on supporting the customers at their sites. As part of your programme, you will learn how to:
- Interpret technical information
- Work on client sites to safely carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), service works and testing on a wide variety of critical power and associated equipment.
- Install equipment such as hire generators.
- Respond to requests for assistance and attend emergency call outs.
- Become competent at diagnosing, locating and rectifying faults on critical power equipment such as Generators, UPS and switchgear.
- Identify and propose best possible solutions.
- Communicate, handover and confirm that the repair or preventative process has been completed and recorded on CRM software.
