At PETA, we work with some of the largest engineering businesses on the South Coast to develop the engineers of the future. Due to continued growth within our Engineering Department, we are now looking to recruit Associate Engineering Instructors (Electrical & Electronic) to support the delivery of our apprenticeship and commercial training programmes.
This role will primarily be based at our specialist engineering training centre in Havant; however, there may be opportunities to deliver training at employer sites where required.
What will I be responsible for?
We are looking for Associate Engineering Instructors (Electrical & Electronic) who can support PETA by delivering engaging and effective electrical and electronic engineering training to apprentices, learners, and corporate clients.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Teaching and mentoring individuals in technical electrical and electronic engineering skills.
- Developing and delivering engaging training sessions and practical workshops.
- Supporting the preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans, and training materials.
- Planning, preparing, and undertaking assessments of competence against awarding body standards.
- Ensuring all relevant training, assessment, and company documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Providing advice, guidance, and technical support to learners and employers.
- Promoting safe working practices and ensuring the immediate reporting of accidents or incidents.
- Supporting the development of learners to help them achieve their qualifications and career aspirations.

What will I need to succeed?
To be successful as our newest Associate Engineering Instructor (Electrical & Electronic), passion, professionalism, and a commitment to developing others will be key.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Extensive electrical and/or electronic engineering experience gained within industry.
- Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to engage and motivate learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable Requirements
- Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
- Teaching qualification.
- Experience of delivering training or working within a learning environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship standards and frameworks.
- Experience within electrical and electronic engineering environments.
