Due to continued business growth, we are now looking to expand our team through to recruitment of new Trainee Engineering Instructors at our specialist engineering centre in Havant.
Training and support
This role is perfect for an experienced Engineer who wants to take their next career step. As a training organisation, PETA is the perfect place to support you in your ambition to become a Trainer / Instructor. Working closely with our experienced Instructor team, you will shadow training sessions to learn how to pass on your skills.
Alongside your practical training, you will attend a range of training sessions to help you develop your communication, presentation, and coaching skills.
PETA will support you to achieve your level three teaching qualification, assessing qualification and your level five teaching qualification.
Your New Role
Joining our team as a Trainee Engineering Instructor or Lecturer, you will learn to how to provide high quality training to young learners, apprentices, and corporate clients. In your new role, your duties will include.
- Teaching and mentoring individuals technical engineering skills both theory and practical
- Develop and prepare appropriate schemes of work and lesson plans for the subject
- Plan, prepare and undertake assessments of competence against the Awarding Body standard
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork relating to training and assessments as well as company business is completed on time and accurately
- Providing advice, guidance, and support to all learners/delegates
- Ensure the immediate reporting of accidents/incidents

To be successful as an Engineering Instructor or Lecturer, you will require the following skills and qualifications:
- A real passion for engineering
- Proven track record working as an engineer
- Level three engineering qualification or higher
- Level 2 literacy, numeracy and digital skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Full driving licence and use of own car
Please Note: As you will be working with learners from 16 years plus through to clients attending our commercial courses, the ability to relate to and communicate well with a wide age range is crucial. A DBS Registration and Disclosure is required.
