PETA Ltd are proud to be working with an established solicitors to recruit an Accounts & Administration Apprentice. Do you have an interest in accounts and law? The Accounts & Business Administration Apprentice will provide a level of service to clients and referrers of work such that Andrew & Andrew is their preferred firm of solicitors and one which they will recommend to others. The postholder will provide a comprehensive, pro-active support to the conveyancing team and reception when necessary.
Training to be provided:
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15-month apprenticeship which includes 12 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.
About the role:
Working within the Accounts department, the Accounts & Business Administration Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:
- General basic bookkeeping; processing monies in, monies out, ledgers and reconciliations
- Running reports and undertaking photocopying as and when required
- Covering the receptionist as and when required
- Inputting time-recording into DPS whilst on reception
- Inputting data into the DPS case management system
- Ordering stationery as required
- Organising and sending the post, to include franking the post daily
- Ensuring the photocopiers are refilled with paper on a weekly basis
- Data-protection of the hard-copies of paperwork; ensuring all paper goes into the lockable confidential waste bin for shredding
- Complying with Law Society/Lexcel standards/Office manual/contract of employment
- Attending department meetings
- Ensuring all enquiries are responded to in a timely manner
- Undertaking relevant internal and external training where required
- Keeping accurate hard and electronic records

- Ability to produce accurate work
- Ability to work flexibly and under pressure
- GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C / 4 are required

- A levels / level 3 qualifications
- Experience of dealing with inbound / outbound client telephone calls
- Experience working in an office environment
- A sense of humour and self-management skills
