PETA are proud to be working with ServerHouse to support them with the recruitment and training of a new IT Technician Apprentice. The successful applicant will join the team at their office in Fareham and work Monday to Friday on a shift pattern.

Training to be provided:
As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from the team at ServerHouse combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.
About the role:
Joining the team as an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for the following duties on a typical shift pattern:
- Managing networks
- Repositioning a frequency on a long range Wifi antenna
- See a remote link to a location is offline, choose a new frequency
- Log in to several routers and switches, spending time doing the following: isolating interesting IP connectivity and Ethernet PPPOE faults
- Use ticketing system to communicate to customers
- Answer customer queries & fixing issues as part of a team
Night shifts:
- Troubleshooting fibre optic connectivity in Europe, Malta and Brazil
- Raising tickets when the network management indicates that fibres/services are down
- You would be liaising with Global Carriers such as Lumen, GTT, Colt and Zayo
5 day rotation- Shift working:
Shift pattern will be:
- 5 mornings (6:45am to 15:00), then 5 days off
- 5 late afternoons (13:45 to 22:00), then 5 days off
- 5 nights (21:45 to 7:00), then 5 days off
32 hours of 40-hour week – this allows the 5-day rotation
Essential skills:
